Headquartered in Norwalk, California, TVB (USA) Inc. (“TVBUSA”) is a wholly owned U.S. subsidiary of the Hong Kong based, TVB Group (“TVB”).  TVB is one of the largest distributors of Chinese-language television programs in the world, producing more than 20,000 hours of programs every year that are made available all over the globe in 200 countries and areas.

TVBUSA was established in 1984 in Monterey Park, a Chinese community near Los Angeles, and began its cable television service. Services are available throughout the San Gabriel Valley area of Southern California. In 1991, the service was extended to San Francisco, Northern California. The Emerald Satellite Platform was born in 1994 to broadcast 24 hours of Chinese programs through satellites in an analog system. In 2000, it became a multi-channel system for digital broadcasting. In 2009, TVBUSA added cable TV service in the New York area, and in the same year, it was listed on the TV platforms of the two major telecommunications companies in the United States.

Now, on traditional TV media, TVBUSA brings entertaining and informative Chinese television programs to audiences across the United States through major cable networks (Spectrum TV and Xfinity/Comcast), satellite television (DISH), set-top box streaming television (SlingTV) and telephone company TV platforms (U-verse TV and Fios TV).

In response to the prevalence of the Internet and smartphone devices in recent years, TVBUSA launched the TVBAnywhere North America app and website in 2019 to open up a new digital streaming market and expand its coverage to the whole of North America (including Canada and the United States) with the latest apps and the Internet. Viewers throughout North America can now download the above programs anytime, anywhere, and can download them on mobile and tablet platforms (Apple IOS and Android), as well as major North American smart TV platforms (AppleTV, FireTV, Roku, AndroidTV, Samsung Smart TV, Rogers/Shaw – igniteTV Box) and watch live streaming channels and on-demand programming anytime, anywhere.

In terms of programming services, TVBUSA provides three independent channels – Los Angeles TVBJ2 channel, San Francisco Jade Channel, and New York TVBJ1 Channel, which serve the most Chinese-populated cities in US – Los Angeles, San Francisco, and New York City, through local cable networks. In addition, TVBUSA offers multiple national TV channels on traditional TV, as well as new Internet and streaming media – TVB1, TVBe, TVB News, TVB Drama and TVBJ1 Channels. Besides channel services, TVBUSA also offers a wide range of on-demand programming to a variety of media and platforms to serve audiences in North America.  All of the above services are available to all North American viewers at anytime and anywhere.

In addition, TVBUSA is also committed to targeting the entire North American non-Chinese speaking market. In Vietnamese, it provides a Vietnamese-dubbed TVB drama channel (TVBV) and serves Vietnamese viewers in the United States through Spectrum TV, a major cable television network, and U-verse, a telephone company’s television platform. For other non-Chinese speakers, TVBUSA provides a FAST Channel – TVB Pearl Drama and video-on-demand programs with English subtitles to serve different non-Chinese speaking groups with mainstream third-party new media (Amazon Prime, Tubi TV, PLEX TV) in North America.

With the rapid development of mass communication technology, TVBUSA shortens the distance and restrictions of time and space, and quickly transmits more latest programs and channels, so that Chinese people in North America can see the world and master everything while staying at home or on the go!
